What is the moisture content (weight) of wood? This is mainly determined by the average air humidity in the area. Only when the moisture content of the board is balanced with the humidity of the outside air can the stability of the furniture be guaranteed and the deformation and cracking be avoided. The average water content of air in different regions is different, the average in the north is 10%, and the average in the south is 16%. According to the difference of air moisture content between the north and the south, the state has formulated the regulation that the water content should be controlled within 12%. Because of the high moisture content in the air, the furniture produced in the south is difficult to adapt to the climate of the north. It can be reduced by 0.5-1.5mm per 10 cm. It is not suitable for use in the north and easy to deform and crack. The average moisture content of air in North China is closest to the wood moisture content formulated by the state.
General small enterprises choose kiln-type baking or commissioned wood processing plant for processing, the moisture content of the board can only be controlled to about 14%, and blindly heating will make the board inside and outside the water content imbalance, the quality of furniture made of such board is not guaranteed. So we must be vigilant.
